On Oct 14 the Bantam Vipers headed to Elora to take on the newly formed Centre Wellington Fusion. This was an action packed game with the bulk of the action in the Vipers zone. The fans were treated to some awesome goaltending by Vipers goalie Matt Hatch, who frustrated the Fusion time and time again. The Vipers were able to sneak a couple passed the Fusion’s goalie to take a two goal lead. Late in the third a Fusion defenceman fired one on the Vipers net that ended up in the top corner, knocking Hatch’s water bottle, as Hatch was unable to see the shot due to the traffic jam in front of the net. The Vipers kept up the battle and ended the game with a 2-1 victory. This was Centre Wellington’s first loss of the season.
Dundas
Oct. 20 the Vipers hosted the Dundas Blues and gave a much better showing then the last game against the Blues. Some hard skating and passing from both teams, and a lot of back and forth play was key in the close game. The teams traded goals throughout the game with the Blues scoring the extra goal in the 3-2 loss for the Vipers. Scoring in this match was Justice Clark and Auzzie Johnstone.
Centre Wellington
The Centre Wellington Fusion came to Arthur on Oct 25 for a rematch. This was another close game. Centre Wellington once again kept most of the action in the Vipers zone. The Vipers had a few shots on net with just one hitting the mesh on a shot off Brandon Wilson. It was great to see Wilson and Travis Gordon back in the action after a few games suspension. The Fusion took this game by a score of 3-1. We’ll get them next time Vipers.
Next home action for the Vipers is Sunday afternoon, Nov. 1 at 4:30pm against the Hespeler Shamrocks. Come on out and cheer on the Vipers!

Friday evening the Atom Vipers played against Erin/Hillsburgh.
Apparently the boys had a fan (teacher) in the stands and were going to ensure he witnessed the true spirit of “Viper Hockey”.
In the first period Aaron Goetz had a nice breakaway to which Erin/Hillsburgh player decided the only way to stop him was to throw his stick at him.
