Firstly I have to redeem myself and apologize to Gage Dyce for not reporting a goal he scored October 2. The assist credit goes to Taylor Quirke. Sorry about that Gage.
Centre Wellington
Tuesday Oct. 27 Atom Vipers were home to Centre Wellington #2. Once again it was an action packed well played game. First period the boys were skating, passing and giving it their all. Jordan Speer had a great shot on net during a power play. Minute’s later Jordan broke away, unfortunately he was tripped, but it was a great breakaway. Aaron Goetz was playing really hard and had numerous shots on the net but was unable to find his mark. Aaron I know you are due for a goal. With only a few minutes left Taylor put us on the board, the goal was unassisted.
Second period the Vipers turned up the heat. Wade Green assisted by Goetz and Alex Gardner scored the second of the night and seemed to start the momentum. Centre Wellington took a penalty and Quirke made good use of the power play assist credits go to Jack Bell and Noah Coffey. Centre Wellington responded to score their only goal of the game. Dyce was playing centre and put one away unassisted. Dareian MacNeil on an assist from Green put another away to end the second 5-1. Blake Lunn played back on defence and did a great job of holding the line. When MacNeil took a hard hit at centre Lunn helped him up and off the ice. Thanks Blake.
Third period the Vipers remained strong. Kyle Speer once again made some great saves. MacNeil scored his second of the game unassisted. Dyce scored his second as well, it too was unassisted. Great game Gage. Green assisted by MacNeil scored his second of the night as well. Final score Arthur 8 Centre Wellington 1. Good game boys.
Centre Wellington
Friday night we were home to Centre Wellington #1, this is the only team that has beaten us to date. The boys were ready and played a great game. Best of all they never gave up. Kyle Speer did a phenomenal job in net, he seen more rubber then a skunk on the 401. Centre Wellington dominated the first period and there was more action in front of Kyle then not. The team worked hard and we had some really good shots but a win just wasn’t in the cards. Kyle Speer made some great saves. Centre Wellington scored two quick goals. Coffey had a great shot but was unable to get it through.
Second period we started out down 2-0 once again the boys were giving it there all. Goetz had some great shots at the net. Dyce took a penalty in the second for tripping but Centre Wellington was on a breakaway so it wasn’t such a bad one to take. Jayson Dowling, Quirke and Coffey set up a nice play but once again the Centre Wellington goalie stopped us.
Third period the boys kept their spirits up and displayed great sportsmanship. Once again we had some opportunity but no luck. The game ended with Centre Wellington 5, Arthur 0. I again just want to thank Kyle Speer for the great job in net.
Dundas
Saturday afternoon we once again met up with Dundas. I missed the game but understand it was a well played game. Jack Bell scored the only goal assisted by Quirke. The game was a tie once again. It seems to be this way with Dundas. Arthur 1, Dundas 1.
Woolwich
Sunday we were off to Elmira for an afternoon game and I again missed the game but coach Glenn told me it was a good one. Coffey scored in the first assisted by Goetz. In the second period Goetz scored assisted by Coffey, good work boys. Aaron, I knew you would get one. Third period Arthur scored two goals. Goetz his second of the game assisted by Gardner and Green. The second goal credits go to Gardner assisted by Green and Dowling. Good work boys!
Friday night we are at home at 7pm. Come on out and cheer the boys on.

Friday evening the Atom Vipers played against Erin/Hillsburgh.
Apparently the boys had a fan (teacher) in the stands and were going to ensure he witnessed the true spirit of “Viper Hockey”.
In the first period Aaron Goetz had a nice breakaway to which Erin/Hillsburgh player decided the only way to stop him was to throw his stick at him.

The Wellington North Under 12 Ringers took on the Waterloo Wildfire Saturday night at Moses Springer arena deep in the heart of suburban RIM-ville. And wow it was a real Saturday Night Special as the two teams treated the crowd to a real nail-biter. In fact, after chewing off all of my own, I began gnawing on the French manicured pinkies of a coupl

It was another winning weekend for the Peewee Vipers hockey team. Friday night the kids laced up for a game against the Acton Tanners.
The first period saw an insane amount of penalty minutes dished out to the Acton team, however the Vipers were unable to capitalize on any power plays and the first period would finish scoreless.

Friday night the Atom Vipers were home to Hespeler. Once again what an exciting, nail biting game right to the end. The boys certainly are doing their part to keep the fans on the edge of our seats.

This past weekend the Peewee Vipers enjoyed a home and way series against the Erin-Hillsburgh Devils and secured a win in both outings.
As the season wears on and teams are working hard on their development programs, we are seeing the games finishing with much closer scores. Definitely some exciting hockey to watch.
