It’s better to start slow and build momentum when doing any task but when you’re a young hard working ringette squad like the Wellington North Under 12 Ringers it’s especially important to be patient and just let yourself improve with each passing game.
After a couple of losses to start the year the Under 12’s got off the schnide (don’t ask me what that means) with a resounding 8-1 win over Kitchener this past weekend. It was a real confidence builder for the team who face excellent teams.
Great performances came from just about everyone in k-town with Mckenzie Hanlon backstopping the team and looking especially sharp.
Up front Catarina Oakes and Mckenzie McDougall were outstanding as was Macy Showers and Amelia Walker. Chevonne Wright and Meghan Benn had their passing games going really well and set up many of their teammates for scoring opportunities. Jordan Bushey and Kiawna Bonsma seem to get stronger and faster with each game.
Someone that caught the eye of the fans was rookie Courtney Voisin who looks like a diamond in the rough.

Friday evening the Atom Vipers played against Erin/Hillsburgh.
Apparently the boys had a fan (teacher) in the stands and were going to ensure he witnessed the true spirit of “Viper Hockey”.
In the first period Aaron Goetz had a nice breakaway to which Erin/Hillsburgh player decided the only way to stop him was to throw his stick at him.

In fact, after chewing off all of my own, I began gnawing on the French manicured pinkies of a coupl

It was another winning weekend for the Peewee Vipers hockey team. Friday night the kids laced up for a game against the Acton Tanners.
The first period saw an insane amount of penalty minutes dished out to the Acton team, however the Vipers were unable to capitalize on any power plays and the first period would finish scoreless.

First period the Vipers were in the game. We had some great passing and the puck seemed to be in the Hespeler zone for a good part of the period lots o

The Novice Vipers did well on November 7 when they played Acton to a 4-4 tie.
Arthur got on the board first when Bryan Richardson went end to end and scored an unassisted goal. Acton answered almost immediately and then scored two other goals in the period. Not to be outdone the Vipers put in two goals with less than two minutes left to play in the

This past weekend the Peewee Vipers enjoyed a home and way series against the Erin-Hillsburgh Devils and secured a win in both outings.
As the season wears on and teams are working hard on their development programs, we are seeing the games finishing with much closer scores. Definitely some exciting hockey to watch.
