The Township of Wellington North has hired a new building inspector.
Council approved the hire at their regular meeting on Monday, Jan. 25.
Patty Wright of Arthur is set to start her new job effective Feb. 1.
Wright still needs some additional training, but has already been booked into the necessary courses.
Seeking council seats
Someone new has already announced he is running for County Council for Ward 4.
Registering papers for the position, currently held by Lynda White, is Jim Heinbuch of RR 2, Arthur. ?Wellington North Councillor John Matusinec announced at Monday evening’s council meeting he would be running for his current job again.
New tower
A new communications tower will be installed at the Kenilworth municipal property for Packet Works, from Waterloo.
The agreement council approved at their meeting is for five years and one month, starting Aug. 1, 2009, and ending on Aug. 31, 2014.
The municipality will receive an annual fee of $750 per antenna installed.
The agreement allows for a maximum of three antennas.
The municipality owns the tower, but leases space to Packet Works.
