Tough weekend for the Wellington North U112 Ringers as they dropped hard fought games to Guelph and Owen Sound respectively on Friday and Saturday.
Game one versus Guelph featured some big efforts from Liam McArthur with a two goal performance and McKenzie McDougall with a solid two-way game. Jordan Bushey and Courtney Voisin were noticeable because of their diligent checking. Strong skating performances from the always reliable Catarina Oakes and Amelia Walker.
Saturday’s tilt in Mount Forest against the Extreme from Owen Sound proved “Extremely” frustrating. They just could not penetrate the tough defence of the visitors on a consistent basis. Still top marks to Meghan Benn and Chevonne Wright on the Ringers D for making life hard for Owen Sound too. Up front Macy Showers and Carissa Campbell catch your eye with some super plays. McKenzie Hanlon was excellent in goal this week but next week could be the big turn around.
