The Arthur and Area Skating Club was very well represented at the annual Weskate competition this year.
The competition was co-hosted by the Drayton & District Skating Club and Skate Canada – Central Ontario on Jan. 30 and 31.
Over 375 skaters and their families met at the PMD arena to compete in the largest invitational skating competition held in Drayton since 2001. Competitors from 15 clubs within the Western Section of Skate Canada Central Ontario vied for the coveted medal positions in 120 events.
The Arthur club sent over 30 skaters to the competition, competing in 24 events, and their results this year were amazing! The skaters earned 24 gold medals, 21 silver, and 17 bronze, in events ranging from canskate elements to senior silver dance events.
