The fall election in Wellington North is heating up.
As of Friday, July 23 two more hopefuls had filed nomination papers with their intention to seek office.
Shawn McLeod of Mount Forest is running for election in Ward 1 against incumbent Councillor Dan J. Yake of Mount Forest.
And, Sherry Burke of Mount Forest is running in Ward 2 against hopeful Ron J. Forrest of Mount Forest.
Lisa M. Hern of RR 2, Kenilworth is the only declared candidate in Ward 3, presently held by Councillor Ross Chaulk of RR 2, Kenilworth. Chaulk is running for the office of mayor in the fall election.
Present Councillor John Matusinec of Arthur is the only candidate thus far in Ward 4.
Chaulk is one of four running for the office of mayor. Other declared candidates are present Mayor Mike Broomhead, Janice L. Lewis and Raymond T. Tout, all of Mount Forest.
Incumbent Walter E. Trachsel of Mount Forest is the only declared candidate for the office of county councillor Ward 3, while Jim Heinbuch of RR, 2 Arthur is squaring off against Incumbent Lynda M. White for the Ward 4 county councillor.
