he Wellington North U14 Ringers had a mighty tall order to grapple with on Saturday night. The powerhouse Owen Sound Extreme were the challenge of the evening and the Ringers had to be at their best. The first period saw just that as WNR-14 put the petal to the metal and really competed with the Extreme all over the ice. Great work from Katy Brenner and Ruthie McComb on D moving the ring and checking hard. Rhiannon Walker and Tori Henderson have an excellent opening frame with a combination of quick skating and determined back
checking. The combination of Macy Showers and Chevonne Wright connect on a goal for the Ringers with Wright denting the twine and the Extreme are feeling the heat. They turn the tables on the Ringers and
goalie Melissa Brace has to be sharp in the WNR-14 net as Owen Sound starts to get lots of shots. By the end of the first the Extreme has kept up the pressure and heads into the second with a 3-1 lead.
