It was a really great effort against a really good team. And while the Wellington North Under 12 Ringers weren’t able to overcome the Waterloo Wildfire in a 7-3 loss there were signs that the team is starting to gel together in a way that can only help the team. Certainly the way the Ringers made some excellent passes to set up a hattrick by the sharp-shooting Liam McArthur showed that good connections are happening. McKenzie McDougall and Jordan Bushey had excellent games also with skating and passing being their greatest attributes. Without a doubt it was the best games that rookies Carissa Campbell and Courtney Voison have played. Carissa hustled throughout and Courtney took on the challenge of playing defence and was a mega-monster behind the blueline, just playing her heart out. And how about those Walker sisters, Amelia and Rhiannon, who refused to quit showing that they’re little girls with big hearts. Chevonne Wright had some scoring chances and did a great job of moving the ring quickly. And while all the hard work didn’t translate into a win this game was hint of what could be if everything falls into place. The Ringers are off to Niagara Falls for a tournament this weekend. Don’t forget your bathing suits for the hotel pool!
And now a word from our Sponsors: Epoch’s Garage in Downtown Kenilworth sponsored Liam McArthur’s big time three-goal outburst. Thanks Tim, Paul and Ruth Ann.
