The Novice Vipers started the semi-final round of OMHA playoffs on February 27 when they hosted Norwich. Norwich beat the Vipers 6-1.
The game didn’t start off on a bright note as the Norwich centre won the face off, took off down the ice, deked out Arthur’s two defencemen and put the puck in the net before ten seconds had passed. The Vipers quickly pulled it together and kept Norwich from scoring again until late in the first period.
Norwich scored two more goals early in the second. With the score at 4-0, Quincy Alexander fired one at the net and scored Arthur’s only goal of the game. It was assisted by Joel Richardson.
Norwich added to their score in the third with two more goals to clinch the win.
February 28 saw the Vipers travel to Norwich. Arthur played a much better game this time around, but it was Norwich winning the match 4-1.
The Vipers lone goal came with 36 seconds left in the game. This was a shorthanded goal by Bryan Richardson. It was assisted by Jacob Bauman.
The third game of this three out of five series will be played in Norwich on March 4 at 7pm. Game four, if necessary, will be played on March 5 at 7pm in Arthur.
