The squirt minor boys faced off against the Arthur major team on Monday June 21, but ended up sharing some of their players and playing a game for fun and taking the 1-0 victory over the majors.
The following Thursday they headed to Palmerston where Ryan Coffey saw a lot of action including catching a ball out field, unfortunately the glove fell off of his hand and landed on the ground and after a moment the ball rolled out so the runner was safe. Shortly after, Ryan was playing short stop and made a fantastic double play to save face. Brayden Allen and Noah Coffey did a great job pitching and all of the boys played well but we just weren’t able to hit the holes and the boys ended up with a 15-3 loss.
On Monday night the boys headed to Rockwood where it wasn’t just the sun heating things up. With only nine players and some blistering heat the boys battled hard but were not able to pull off a win. Kurt Beilke had a great night at the plate with many good hits including a nice double. Kazuki Nishiyama did a great job at short stop making some good catches and throwing a couple of runners out at first, but it was Logan McNabb who capped off the night making an unbelievable catch out in left field to finish off the game.
The boys head to Alma on Tuesday for the next game.
