The atom girls were back on the diamond June 16 and were aiming for their third straight victory against Hillsburgh. I wasn’t able to attend the game but heard that no matter the effort the girls didn’t get luck on their side and ended up with a 16-14 loss.
The next game the Twisters were ready to play and it showed as they trampled Minto to a lopsided 14-3 victory. A great team effort by all showed at the end with nearly every player crossing the plate and our player of the game was Jessica batting three for three and scoring each time. A rock solid defence allowed only nine hits, six of which were unable to make it home.?Mount Forest was the next team in line to face and their offence came to play. The girls did great jobs of keeping an eye and taking walks when they were there. Josey creamed a triple and a grand slam to open up the lead. There was also an offensive spark from Gabby, Grace, Josey and Paige who all batted three for four or higher! Our player of the game was our only pitcher for the night Paige who stayed strong when the umps got picky. A special thank you to our call-up Sarah O’Donnell who helped out when we were short staffed for players.
On Sunday night the girls met up with Hillsburgh once again and despite the extreme heat they managed to pull off a 14-6 win. Way to go girls.
