On July 5 the Arthur Minor Mites hosted Hillsburgh 3. Arthur won the game 26-19.
The team did a great job at the plate. Andrew O’Donnell, Ben Saunders, Bella Smith, Dylan Richardson and Sarah O’Donnell all went four for four. Homeruns were hit by Alyssa Farrelly, Ben (2), Erin Rooney and Dylan. Akari Matsuura and Dylan each hit triples.
July 8 saw the team at home again, this time facing Minto Crush 2. It was a close one but in the end Minto defeated the Minors 23-21.
Johnathan Hewittson and Dylan both went four for four at the plate. Alyssa and Dylan hit grand slam homeruns. Other homers went to Ben (2). Triples were smacked by Erin (2), Bella, and Alyssa. Johnathan, Alyssa, Sarah and Barrett Dobie each hit doubles.
In their third home game of the month the Mites faced off against Drayton/Moorefield. The game was called in the third inning due to rain, but Arthur still managed to edge out their opponents with a score of 15-13.
Ben Saunders made a great pop fly catch on second base and there were some good plays made for outs at first base.
Jacob went three for three while Dylan and Sarah were two for two. Arthur’s lone homerun was a grand slam shot by Dylan. Alyssa smacked the team’s only triple.
The Minor Mites next home game is July 29 at 6:30 on A Diamond when they face off against Grand Valley.
